About The Author: Ebenezer Sherman Oakley (1865-1935) was an English-born missionary, theologian, and educator. He was the son of Congregational minister Henry Oakley. He served with the London Missionary Society in Almora, northern India, from 1906, where he also became the Principal of Ramsay College. Oakley made significant contributions to education and missionary work in India. His son, Austin Oakley, later became an archdeacon with the Church of England in Costa Rica.
